History

A native of Richmond Virginia and a 1991 graduate from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, Department of Photography, I founded Wrench Ltd., in 1996. In the five years following university, I worked as an assistant to various photographers, including, Christophe Jouany, Marc Hispard, Steven Klein, Steven Meisel, Deborah Feingold and Mark Seliger, among others. In 1994, while on set with Christophe and a well know hair-dresser, Pascal Dangin, Pacal was showing Christophe digital prints of Christophe's images he had retouched, images we had made in the California desert: it was at this moment I decided I wanted to get involved in digital imaging. Pascal started Box Ltd., I worked there for 6 months, and then went on to start my own business. In the beginning, all incoming imagery had been shot on film, and every completed image was provided as a digital file with an accompanying proof: the process was heavy equipment intensive requiring drum scanners and a range of output devices from small to huge. The process is more streamlined today, but the core service remains the same - digital retouching.
